05 Aug 2010New Recruits Preparing To Join UJC
Our new recruits are getting ready to come to the UK.  Over the next few weeks Rabbi Amiel and Einat Vasl will be arriving in Nottingham and Rabbi Avi and Debby Neuman to Brighton. Both families are very excited to start preparing for the academic year and welcoming all Jewish students to their homes.  Already in the UK are Rabbi Mati and Vanessa Kos who will be the first Chaplains specifically for the North East who will be based in Durham.

To assist Rabbi Broder in London, UJC have appointed Georgina Bye, a recent graduate of Leeds University and herself very involved in JSoc during her time there. Georgina will be working alongside Rav Gav to support and serve all the students across London.

A staggering 4,542 meals were served to over 1,500 students across all regions of the UK this past academic year creating a new record of meals served by UJC Chaplains.
17 May 2010Cambridge students relax and recharge before exams

Cambridge students took a welcome break from exam stress last Tuesday evening, and enjoyed a range of chocolate delights at the Chaplain's house. The event provided an island of calm in an intense term and a chance to check in with Jewish friends over chocolate fondue.

Last Sunday over 30 students joined Rabbi Yochanan and Jodie Pereira soaking up the sun, drinking and catching up with old friends. The UJC reunion was a great success and a good opportunity for alumni to rekindle relationships and catch up with the Pereira's. A second reunion is in planning stages....

In a novel and ground breaking initiative to help students get a head-start in the career world, University Jewish Chaplaincy (UJC), TrainE-TraidE and the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) teamed up to organise a Jewish speed-networking event to help struggling students explore their career options and give graduates a chance to make contacts.
