Getting ready for the new Academic Year
Our Chaplains are gearing up to what promises to be a busy and exciting year on campuses across the UK.  They will be coming to a Freshers Fair near you – look out for them.

An outdoor centre in the Watling Chase Forest was the venue for an intensive three day residential training course for the University Chaplains covering nine centres across the United Kingdom, from Scotland to the South Coast.

Rabbis and Rebbetzins spent valuable time together planning, learning, sharing ideas and giving each other chizuk in preparation for the year ahead.  As well as shiurim given by a variety of Rabbis and educators, the Chaplains participated in sessions covering a wide variety of topics including educational programming, counselling and early intervention and health and safety.

As Ian Kamiel, UJC's Chief Executive commented "it was especially valuable for the four Chaplains who are new in post to learn more about the vital role they play giving spiritual, educational  and emotional support to Jewish students across the country and how they can truly make a difference to people's lives.  We are extremely excited at the prospect of having Chaplains posted in every major student centre (including the South Coast for the first time) and believe that we have a fantastic team of people supporting Jewish students at what is a very difficult time on campus."
